BioWare released the first expansion, Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening. This would probably be the only expansion to be released for the game as BioWare is already working on the sequel which is set to be released next February. Well, there's a small possibility they might work on another expansion while developing the sequel. If there're hard-working enough. I shan't be a spoiler and reveal the story details so don't worry.

The important thing is, I have played through the story and completed it two weeks ago in 2-3 days. It's the holidays right now so I have ample amount of time to enjoy the game. I did enjoy it. That's an HONEST statement. However, some critics have cited the story to be "disappointing" but I beg to differ. I was entertained so much so that it kept me playing. If the developers had that effect in mind, the game is then truly successful. The critics with their negative reviews can suck it big time.

The game mechanics and the interface are the same so you shouldn't have any problems adapting. There are new sub-classes though. Which also means new spells and skills for the current classes. You can't bring your companions from Origins but you'll meet new ones. Some with very interesting backgrounds and whatever decisions you make might affect what they would do. You'll able to import your main character. Some items may be missing from your inventory. This is not a bug but a deliberate act to simply balance the game at the beginning.

One word to describe the experience. AWESOME. The new guns are great but not a very wide variety too. The AK47 doesn’t have good accuracy but it does kickass damage. There’s also the Bile Bomb. What is it? Remember the Boomer which vomits on you and causes hordes of zombies to attack you?

Well they have isolated the vomit into a container which you can throw onto the zombies and see them get owned by their own kind! Talk about team-killing! I got a try throwing it onto the Tank with amazing results. He was put down quite easily by his “friends”. There’s also the grenade launcher and incendiary ammo which sets zombies on fire upon shooting them. Oh I missed out the Adrenaline injector which causes you to move faster and attack faster while the Defibrillator revives dead team mates on the spot instead of saving them from rooms.

Oh the melee weapons are hilarious. Whacking zombies with a guitar produces an out of tune strumming sound. Attention to detail there! There’re about 10 new melee weapons. The dismemberment engine has been reworked just for the melee weapons, the Chainsaw, Axe and the Machete! Yes! Slice off zombies’ arms, legs and heads! It’s unfortunate that the demo only allows us to try the Machete. Still fun though!

I too got hammered by the new special infected which were as dangerous as always! I hate the Jockey. Really annoying! He jumps onto of you and is able to steer towards the direction it wants to move. It claws you while on top but they don’t do much damage, though but its main purpose is to steer players into acidic goo. Speaking of acidic goo, that’s the job of the Spitter. As the name suggests, it spits acid at players and explodes upon impact. Creating a pool of acid which is deadly if you in it!

Last but not least, the Charger. You could call it the Tank’s little brother. He literally appears from no where and charges at a survivor with great speed. Upon impact, the survivor gets pushed till it reaches a wall which stops the Charger. When that happens, the Charger hammers you constantly till you die!

Well I have said a lot but ultimately, it’s you who should experience the fun that Left 4 Dead 2 brings. So go pre-order the game via Steam or download the demo from Steam too!

Interestingly enough, my favorite part of this game is not the extremely fun gameplay, or the interesting set of psychic (plasmid) powers you gain access to, or even the gorgeous graphics that make Rapture one of the most awe inspiring settings for a game since Shadow of the Colossus. No, my favorite part of this game is the enemies.

I'm not talking about the powerful Big Daddies everyone is always raving about. I'm not talking about the Spider Splicers that crawl along the ceiling and then land behind you to make your life miserable and short. I'm talking about the basic enemies.

If you do play this game, do yourself a favor. In the early part of the game, find a room with multiple enemies in it, and instead of running in and shooting everything, just sit and listen for a while. The enemies will talk amongst themselves. Their chatter will not make much sense to you, since you have your sanity, but listen regardless. Listen for long enough, and the enemies will get into an argument and start shooting each other.

Bioshock is great for so many reasons. My favorite reason is the atmosphere, and this total chaos that the enemies seem determined to spread is a large part of that atmosphere. As someone who has never played the System Shock series, I had no baseline to compare Bioshock to. I generally enjoy the single player mode of first person shooters, but Bioshock threw in the same amount of atmosphere as I expect from a game of a different genre *COUGH ICO COUGH*, and for this, I like it even more.

Complain all you want about how the RPG elements of this game are slightly lacking, or about the fact that this is a dumbed down clone of System Shock II. That may be so, but this game still merits playing. Just remember: stop, look and listen are for more than just crossing the street.

Global Agenda has improved a lot in recent times. The Sandstorm expansion, finalized with patch 1.3.6, added a lot of new content to the game for free. Among this content is the low level open zone "Sonoran Desert" with solo missions and higher-level "Raids" where the objective is to defend a vital Dome City outpost from Colony drones.

The good:

Fast-paced PvE and PvP gameplay

No Subscription fees (Buy to play)

Good balance between classes

The developers listen and act on feedback.

Team based

Large variety of devices

The bad:

Maps get stale. A lot are very identical. Newer maps seem to break away from this trend however.

a bit lacking in content for higher-level players.

Important info is not always explained well in-game. (ie, item tooltips are sometimes confusing or incorrect)

Overall Opinion -

Global Agenda is a great game. While it does lack in content variety in some aspects, the combat system in-game is rock-solid and enjoyable. It is easy to do a quick mission and log off. There are also XP/token boosts for those with less time to play.

Still not sure if you should buy it? Global Agenda has an unlimited free trial so you can get a taste of the game and decide for yourself if you want to buy the full game.

Currently $30 on Steam.

Altitude offers team based and death-match modes as well as a sort of CTF that has your team fighting for control of a ball, attempting to shoot it into the opposing teams net.

Pros:

* One account gets you access to PC, Mac, and Linux versions

* Side-scrolling airplane flying deathmatch action

* Many game types

Cons:

* Too few airplane types

Robot Indie Game

Plain Sight is a indie action game. You play as a robot wich fight other robots, only in melee. You frag people by charging in to them. Earn energy and explode yourself to get points and kill more robots.

It can be pretty fun sometimes to just mess around in the game. Jumping around in this game is different from many others. Try it out and you will se what i mean. There is a slowmotion-low gravity kind of feeling whilst jumping.

The deathmatch part isn't really that nice tho. Altho you can play with bots, this isn't more fun.

We couldn't get our dedicated servers to work, and you can't join eachother through steam. The server browsing is worthless, so we were unable to play with eachother.

If you like this type of indie game, you can go ahead and buy it, Altho, 10$ is overpriced for this game!

Note: This game was on sale on Steam for a short period of time 2-3 days in last week of august. It was sold for 1.8€ , instead of the usual 10€ price. For less than 2€, i would say it was worth the money. Its a game you can have fun with sometimes, even if its for short periods. Due to this steam sale, this game gained alot of attention (was barley noticed before the sale) and gained lots of new players.

I hope Steam does this to more indie games , put them on sale for reasonable prices, so that they earn more players and attention. (and more money) There are several indie games on steam that are severly overpriced that could use a deal like this!
